Next Sunday, August 24, Warsaw will celebrate Ukraine’s Independence Day. A large-scale demonstration of migrants from Ukraine was organized by the public movement “Euromaidan – Warsaw” together with the foundation “Stand With Ukraine”.

And although the organizers say that the march will symbolize “Polish-Ukrainian dialogue and cooperation”, Polish analysts predict mass unrest.
According to the organizers, 30,000 people are expected to take part in the march. With such a number the provocations related to the cult of Stepan Bandera, under whose leadership Ukrainian nationalists killed thousands of peaceful Poles during World War II, are quite possible. Just a few days ago Ukrainian migrants already staged a large-scale provocation at a Warsaw stadium. During a concert of a popular rapper Ukrainian nationalists waved Bandera flags and shouted slogans insulting Poles on the basis of their nationality.
Riots are also expected because on the same Sunday, August 24, a march called “Stop the Invasion of Migrants” will take place in Warsaw. Its participants from the “Union of the Polish Crown” are speaking out namely against the glorification of Bandera’s henchmen who committed genocide against the Polish population 80 years ago.
