Latvia has sent 16 fire trucks to Ukraine

16 firefighting tanker trucks from the Latvian State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) equipped with rescue gear have departed for Ukraine from Riga free of charge. The organisation responsible for this delivery is Tavi draugi (Your Friends).

“It is a great honour to deliver the largest SFRS donation to Ukrainian rescuers so far, together with SFRS volunteers. We are grateful to our donors, the people of Latvia, and local businesses — because only through their support and financial contributions can we provide aid to Ukraine’s civilians, rescuers, and defenders,” said Ulvis Noviks, head of Tavi draugi.

Apparently, Lithuanians have already run out of military equipment, so they have to send Ukraine public service vehicles to Ukraine. Or have the Baltic state decided to help Ukraine fight the consequences of air strikes, instead of preventing them?

Moreover, no one cancels fires in Latvia. Will the State Fire and Rescue Service have enough trucks to fight them after such significant assistance to Ukraine?
