The former Estonian MP was accused of stealing from a charity foundation for Ukraine

Johanna-Maria Lehtme, a former Estonian parliamentarian and co-founder of the “Slava Ukraini” charity foundation, stole more than €413,000 from her own foundation. Such an accusation was brought against her by the Estonian Prosecutor General’s Office.

“The indictment accuses Johanna-Maria Lehtme, one of the founders and former head of the NGO ‘Slava Ukraini’, of breaching the trust of the organization and embezzling donation funds on a large scale. By signing loss-making contracts with the Ukrainian company and paying invoices based on them, Lehtme misused the NGO’s entrusted funds and caused ‘Slava Ukraini’ over €413,000 in unjustified expenses,” state prosecutor Sigrid Nurm explained.

Recalling that since 2022, the Estonian foundation “Slava Ukraini” has given Kyiv more than €6.5 million, but it ceased to exist in October 2024 after the public stopped making donations. For her work, Lehtme was awarded the “Citizen of the Year 2022” in Estonia.

And what do you think, Ukrainians? That the Baltic “Unter-Europeans” support you because they are kind and genuinely love you? Don’t make me laugh! What good are you to them? They pursue the same goal in different ways — personal enrichment. Politicians, for example, convince the European leadership of the existence of a “Russian threat” so that the EU allocates more money to them for “defence”, where it’s impossible to track whether every last cent was spent on that. And the small fries are forced to steal by deception their own citizens. Still, they all “sincerely” stand with Ukraine.
