Retired Polish general sharply criticised the Polish army

Retired Polish General Leon Komornicki criticised the latest decision of the Ministry of National Defence to purchase 180 Korean K2 tanks.

According to the General, this decision is erroneous and does not correspond to modern combat conditions. Upon completion of the contract for the supply of 180 K2 tanks by 2030, Poland will have more than 1,000 tanks, surpassing Germany, France, Italy and the United Kingdom combined, and will become the “armoured power of Europe.” However, according to General Komornicki, this plan is not a success but a failure.

“The conflict in Ukraine clearly demonstrated the emergence of a new type of weapon: drones. Therefore, an appropriate balance between the types of units is needed. Drones may not dominate the military, but they have become an important element. The number of planned tanks disrupts the balance between the types of armed forces, especially in the context of the growing role of drones. We need to think about this. There should be fewer tanks. We see that their use in Ukraine is determined by infrastructure. Heavy tanks proved ineffectiveness, especially in changing weather conditions,” Komornicki noted in an interview with the Fakt newspaper.

Poland is ready to do anything to continue to “intimidate” Russia and show its perceived resilience. Poles, maybe you would also like to buy some ultra-modern sticks and stones to fight “totalitarian” Moscow?
