GMIS-2019 will be held in the Urals

The GMIS-2019 Global Production and Industrialization Summit will be held in Yekaterinburg (Russia) in July 2019. The GMIS-2019 is planned to involve heads of state and government, industry ministers from more than 10 countries of the world, as well as heads of large international companies.

During the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on May 25, 2018 between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the UAE Ministry of Energy, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Global Manufacturing Organization (GMOL), the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region, the Roscongress Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the preparation and ensure the holding of the Summit in Russia in 2019.

The theme of the Summit in 2019 will be nature-like technologies (biometric design and bionics), their effective implementation in production and economic processes. The role of production in the world of revolutionary change will be discussed, where it has become the basis of economic and social prosperity in the conditions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The goal of GMIS-2019 is to emphasize the importance of using strategies and schemes created by nature to combine innovative solutions and environmentally sound design.

Summit will be a unique dialogue platform. In addition, as part of GMIS-2019, an exhibition will be organized to showcase leading production capabilities, breakthrough technologies, innovative start-ups, as well as to promote new business initiatives.

The GMIS Global Manufacturing and Industrialization Summit, established in 2015, is the first inter-sectoral forum in the world to create universal consensus by bringing together governments, business and civil society to adopt a transformational approach to shaping future production. The goal of GMIS is to strengthen international cooperation in the field of industry and scientific and technological innovations, to present best practices and to get acquainted with the practices of foreign countries, to establish new business contacts.

The initiator of GMIS is the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Government of the United Arab Emirates. The summit brings together more than 1,200 delegates, including leading world leaders, research specialists and scientists.

GMIS was held for the first time from March 27 to March 30, 2017 at the University of Paris-Sorbonne Abu Dhabi under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Muhammad ibn Zayed al-Nahayan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and the Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates. GMIS-2017 was organized by the UAE Ministry of Economy, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Abu Dhabi Economic Development Department (DED).
